Germany lies between the Baltic and North seas and the Alps. It is a federal parliamentary republic led by a chancellor, with over 80-million inhabitants and with the world's 4th-largest economy. Its capital is Berlin, and the largest urban area is the Ruhr.

It borders Denmark, Poland, Czech Republic, Austria, Switzerland, France, Luxembourg, Belgium, and the Netherlands.

Germania was documented before 100 BCE. The Federal Republic of Germany was a founding member of the European Union. German Democratic Republic united wit the Federal Republic of Germany in 1990.

Ukraine is located by the Black Sea. It is the second-largest country by area in Europe with over 40-million population. Its capital is Kyiv.

The territory has been inhabited since 32,000 BCE. During the Middle Ages, the area was the center of East Slavic culture as Kyivan Rus' state.

Ukraine became independence from the Soviet Union in 1991. Its neighbors are Poland, Slovakia, Hungary, Romania, Moldova, Belarus, and Russia.
