  • Connection 🔶

    Mentioning people, proper quoting, and linking to sources are the foundational features of this site. I am trying to be diligent with citations.

    Therefore, I organize all external informational connections in groups:

    1. Citation, mentioning:
      1. Names of people mentioned;
      2. Passages from publications, quotations.
    2. Link:
      1. Sources of information;
      2. Titles of publications containing the facts;
      3. Origination of definitions and standards.

    I also often provide the definitions I use to be more clear. I would like my site to stand out from the sea of misinformation and partial unorganized factual information. I want to make sense.

    When possible, I summarize my knowledge of the topic the way you see below. Natural languages and sub-cultures are somewhat messy, so by cultivating this habit in myself I make it easier for myself to navigate terminology, and the reader have more instant clarity.

    References include information about external sources - links, citations, mentions, names, and titles - and point out relations between informational objects.

    Definitions are statements of the meaning of a term:

    1. Intensional - give the sense of a term by naming properties that a thing must have in order to be part of the set.
      In logic and mathematics, an intensional definition gives the meaning of a term by specifying necessary and sufficient conditions for when the term should be used.
    2. Extensional - list the objects that a term describes).
      Extensional definitions are used when listing the members of a set tells the questioner enough about the nature of that set, or gives more applicable information than other types of definition.
    3. Ostensive - convey the meaning by pointing out examples of one or more members of a set, but not necessarily all.

    A term may have many different senses and multiple meanings, and thus require multiple definitions. Definitions and axioms are the basis on which all of modern mathematics is constructed.

    Standard is a criterion, an acknowledged measure of comparison for quantitative or qualitative value. Standards can be:

    • Objects that under specified conditions representsthe unit.
    • Degrees or levels of requirementor excellence.
    • Sets of specifications that are adopted to allow compatibility.

    Knowledge - useful information, facts, methods, tips, tutorials - presentations of concepts, abstract ideas, general notions, conceptions, abstractions, theories, hypotheses, and beliefs and convictions based on factual information and experience.

  • Media 🔺

    By content, I group all creative media I use in combination into these types: artwork, graphics, sound, text, video.

    Multimedia is a combined use of several media, integration of different media types like text, graphics, video, and sound.

    • Graphics 💎

      Raster and vector graphics - electronically produced images, both still and animation, photographs and infographics, raster and vector computer-generated imagery (CGI), computer graphics, digital graphic art.

      Digital graphical images, created using electronic technology:

      1. Rasterimages, or bitmaps, are digital images created or captured as a set of samples of a given space. Raster images are made of pixels - single points or the smallest single element in a display device. They are stored in files like .jpg, .png, .gif.
        • Photographs - pictures made using a camera, captured and modified reality presented in raster images, photos and snapshots.
          Digital photography is the science, art and skill of creating images by recording light electronically.
        • Stills - static images,  electronic productions and infographics.
        • Animation - kinetic electronic images.
          Animation is illusion of motion and change made by means of the rapid display of a sequence of static images that minimally differ from each other.
      1. Vector images, scalable graphics: vector-based images that are not made up of lines rather than a series of dots, they can be rotated or scaled to a larger size and preserve image quality. They are stored in files like .svg.
    • Sound 🎺

      Audible content:

      • Noise, ambient sound;
      • Speech, dialogue, conversation;
      • Music, non-verbal voice, singing.

      Sounds - records of vibrations that travel through the air or another medium and can be heard.

    • Text 📃

      Written representation of thought, longer and illustrated texts.

    • Video 📺

      Video - recorded motion graphics, typically with sound:

      Videos, movies - are series of still images which, when shown on a screen, creates the illusion of moving images due to the phi phenomenon.

      1. Videography - capturing events, shows, video-portraiture.
      2. Films (long, short, ultrashort):
        1. Featurefilms: full-length motion pictures with a running time over 40 minutes, often over 80 - I plan to make one.
        2. Short film - I made several short documentaries.
        3. Ultra-short films (ultrashorts) are shorter than one minute - under 1 min. duration, 1-60 seconds.

      Movies I make not often include fiction.

      Fiction - fictional or fictionalized narratives or stories, reports of connected imaginary events, presented in sequences of words or images, forwish-fulfillment, or expression, or recounting of past events.

  • Multilingual 🔻

    In multilingual texts and audio speeches, verbal content is expressed in several, more than one, languages.

    Languagesare methods and systems of communication.

    Multilingualism is the use of more than one language, either by an individual speaker or by a group of speakers. People who speak multiple languages are called polyglots.

    Multilingual speakers have acquired and maintained at least one language during childhood. Children acquiring two languages natively from early years are called simultaneous bilinguals.

    • English 🇺🇸

      English Language - Englische Sprache - англійська мова - английский язык
