I am not active on social media, but I try to check on my old profiles now and then. My direct messages (DMs) are usually switched off, and I do not monitor mentionings and comments closely. None of the apps are installed on my phone. I am happy to connect outside of social media.

I manage a few pages on Facebook and try to log in every second week.
I dislike Facebook and open it only in need, in a special browser container - to prevent it from stealing my data from other sites. Its apps, including Messenger, Instagram, WhatsApp, etc., are not installed on my phone.
