For my works with acrylic on canvas, I usually use 100% cotton heavy-weight canvases, and sometimes lightweight cotton or linen.

On occasion, I use synthetics, nylon or polyester, sometimes repurposed.

The canvases I ground myself, with white or toned gesso, or stain them with transparent pigments, often adding some texture. I rarely buy pre-gessoed canvas rolls, because of the amount of additives they use in the coating.
