Okinawa Spinach (Gynura crepioides) - a perennial leafy green, not a real spinach.

Other names: Okinawa lettuce, Cholesterol spinach, Hong tsoi.

Plant

My plant behaves partially as a vine in shade, and I had already propagated it successfully by cutting, directly into the ground soil.

Leaves

The leaves has dark green top side and purple from the bottom. They are plush, juicy and very tasty. I use the prunings in salads.

Native

Southeastern Asia.
